Meet the Staff

Wendell Hanson   -  CAI, AARE

Tullahoma, TN

Colonel Wendell Hanson is the President of Nashville Auction School. He is a graduate of the school, past Director of Curriculum for NAS, and owner of Hanson Realty & Auction Co. Colonel Hanson holds both CAI (Certified Auction Institute) and AARE (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate) and is a GPPA (General Personal Property Appraisal) Candidate. He has a degree from Motlow College in Management and has been an auctioneer for over ten years.

Rhessa Orr Deriso   -  Executive Director	Tullahoma, TN
Rhessa Orr holds a BS in Education from the University of Tennessee and brings to the school a lifetime appreciation of the auction, a background in both education and business and years of experience in clerking and cashiering an auction. Ms. Orr is also a GPPA Designee and teaches Personal Property Appraisal and Antiques as well as offering small business start-up workshops through NAS.

Kim Stone  - CAI	Cleveland, TN
Colonel Kim Stone, a graduate of NAS, is a former Tennessee and Alabama Bid Calling Champion. Colonel Stone instructs on Bid Calling. Currently, Colonel Stone is the national auction manager for Adessa Auto Auctions.

Robert Brown	Hodgenville, KY
Colonel Robert Brown is a graduate of Nashville Auction School and has been an instructor at the school since 1981. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master’s Degree from Western Kentucky University. Colonel Brown is a former high school principal and assistant superintendent of schools. He also holds a Kentucky auctioneer and real estate license.

Kenneth Lewis	Elizabethtown, KY
Colonel Kenny Lewis is the instructor on personal property and appraisals. Holding an auctioneer license, real estate broker’s license and appraiser’s license, Colonel Lewis brings more than twelve years of personal experience into the classroom.

Marcus Gravitt

Chattanooga, TN

Colonel Marc Gravitt graduated from Nashville Auction School in 1990, and successfully completed a three year program of CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) in 1997. He is a member of the American Society of Appraisers and holds the designations of Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA) and Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE). Colonel Gravitt specializes in Commercial Liquidations, Bankruptcy Auctions and Appraisals.

James D. Lane, II, JD	Tullahoma, TN
Jim Lane received his JD in 1984 from Nashville School of Law. He has worked for the US Bankruptcy Court, Middle District and the US Small Business Administration as well as serving as a Chapter 7 Trustee for the Middle District of Tennessee. He is currently a partner in Ray, Jackson and Lane, PC. Jim Lane teaches UCC, Contracts and Bankruptcy.

David Hart - CAI, AARE	Moultrie, GA
Colonel David Hart is a graduate of Missouri Auction School and is th COO of Rowell Realty and AUction CO. in Moultrie, GA. He holds CAI and AARE Certifications and instructs Real Estate for NAS as well as advanced Real Estate instruction in the AARE designation program.

Pam Tipps  - Office Manager	Tullahoma, TN
Pam Tipps is the Office Manager for Nashville Auction School and is most likely the first person our students talk to when they call.  She holds an Associates Degree in Information Processing from Motlow State Community College.  She also works as a clerk and cashier for Hanson Realty and Auction Company in Tullahoma.
