Rhessa Hanson joined the NAS team in early 2001 to manage and grow Nashville Auction School. Rhessa holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Tennessee and years of small business experience, both as a business owner and as a business consultant.
Rhessa grew up in the auction and real estate business and has decades of experience as a contract auction clerk and cashier. Drawing from her experiences in business and as auction staff, she brings a uniquely informed perspective to the classroom. She instructs on clerking, cashiering, escrow and trust accounting, sales tax, advertising and business practices. Rhessa is also a personal property appraiser through Hanson Realty and Auction Co., Inc. and instructs on antiques and appraisals.
Rhessa is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, the National Auctioneers Association Auxiliary, the National Association of Realtors and the Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors. She is the past-Chairman of the Tullahoma Community Pride Foundation and has served on the boards of the Tennessee Association of Independent Colleges and Schools and the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center.
In addition to her management and instructional services to NAS, Rhessa also provides consultation services to auction businesses through NAS special program offerings.
